Kunst en Licht en Glas began twenty-five years ago, collecting art deco lamps in Vienna.
We began collecting antique lamps, which were designs inspired by the Wiener Werkstätte by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser.
The Viennese Jugendstil / Art Nouveau had a unique place in contemporary art movements at the time.
Over the years, we have sold many antique lamps from our collection, and have received requests to produce more in line with these designs. You can still see these influences at the root of our contemporary designs.
The first replica we created was an Art Nouveau chandelier hanging from a mirror tent in Belgium. More replica projects followed. For each project, we searched for the right design and the right materials. We learnt new techniques along the way. For instance, we needed to invent ways to make chain, create glass replicas and more.
